Tomorrow is World Book Day and I am sure there will be plenty of writers’ workshops, guilds, associations and bookstores celebrating with their own specific events.
Here in Dublin, Ireland the Irish Writers’ Centre celebrate with their listed program:
11.00am Bring along some of your favourite short stories and poems from around the world and read them at our literary coffee morning. Also, bring an old book or two and exchange it for something different at our book swap.
1.00pm The inaugural Ink Slingers, Creative Writing Hour. The hour will include writing excercises and prompts to get ideas flowing. It is open to everyone and is suitable for all levels of experience.
2.30pm Poetry reading. A rare opportunity to meet our poetry tutors as they read and discuss their own work.
3.00pm Caroline Byrne will keep us entertained with some soft ambient live music.
5.00pm Milk and Cookies, accomplished storytellers will join us for a storytelling muster.
7.30pm Wine reception in our decorative reading rooms.
8.00pm Senator David Norris will perform his highly acclaimed Joycean One-Man Show “Do You Hear What I’m Seeing?” guaranteed to be a witty and entertaining evening.
